Based in Spartanburg, SC, Brian Swift is an artist specializing in woodworking and abstract art. From his workshop — The Shed Woodworks — he crafts one-of-a-kind tables, chairs, cutting boards, and wall art from carefully selected hardwoods.
After growing up in Michigan, he joined the Navy, and went on to become a technician at companies such as BMW and Keurig. Now retired, he enjoys playing more guitar with his band, being a handyman around the house, and caring for his new Granddaughter Juniper.
Brian's work celebrates the natural character of wood: live edges, figured grain, and the small imperfections that make each board unique. Every piece is shaped, joined, sanded, and finished by hand, with techniques that reward a closer look.
